Healthy Face Movement for Etude House

So finally I could finished my very first video tutorial and succesfully uploaded it after 8 hours!! Whoaaa internet connection was very slow ._.

Basically it's about how I do my morning - night routine, about how I apply my skincare, how I cleanse my face and how I do my daily makeup. :D I did this video to support the Healthy Face Movement Campaign from Etude House Indonesia that I'd shared before.

To be honest I'm not really satisfied T_T It's really hard to shoot the whole process by myself and make sure it is all good. Another reason is because Pat refuses to help me! He was agree to help me in the beginning and when I'm ready ... he's gone (playing Candy Crush wtf! hahaha). I was also trying to do a voice over but I'm afraid I couldn't make it on time because it will need more time to do. But I will try my best to make a better one in the future :D

Review Shu Uemura PORERASER UV Under Base Mousse

Everyday is summer in Jakarta. You can burn yourself if you're doing activities under sun exposure without any protection. So you'd probably understood why using sunscreen is really important then. But sometimes, putting layers of skincare could take so much time. Shu Uemura invented this beautiful item which combined both sunscreen and primers.  

Shu Uemura PORERASER UV Under Base Mousse with SPF 35 PA++.

The bottle was made of metals with a plastic pump. Kinda remind me with face spray. So you don't have to worry if you drop it accidentaly because it won't leak except you smash it on to the floor xD. They come in two different undertones which is Pink and Beige. Mine is Beige since I have yellow undertone.

As you can guess from its name, it comes in mousse formula which is really really light and easy to spread. You only need a little amount of product for every single use. As for me, I only use around 1/2 pump as one pump gives out too much product and it will be a waste. Just press the pump lightly. You can use your finger or facial sponge to apply it.

 It will melt after 20-30 seconds into runny consistency and can be blended easily on your skin. 

Most of sunscreen is quite greasy and I hate it very much. Especially if I have to wear makeup afterward. :( It feels like wearing a thick mask whole day. But you still have to wear sunscreen to protect your skin, whether you like it or not .

It dries in a semi-matte finish and might look a little bit pale in the beginning, but it will to set and blend with your skintone nicely. Make sure to give it enough time before you put your makeup on.

Here's a step by step how to apply the UV Under Base

Compared to their previous UV Under Base Mousse, this PORERASER series could cover your pores more and make your skin smooth like baby's skin. Sunscreen and face primer in a go. :D Now let's see how good it could cover my pores.

I like its texture so much and how did it brighten up my complexion. It also saves so much time because you can put your sunscreen and primer together. After putting the PORERASER, you can apply your make-up directly. I usually only put a layer of BB cream for my everyday makeup and it even feels really nice in hot weather. It doesn't feel sticky or uncomfortable whatsoever. Not forget to mention that it has a high SPF too which is enough for daily use and I love it so much <3

The only thing that might bother is it contains silicone. It is not really surprising for me. But for those who have an allergy with silicone should be careful. And remember to cleanse you face if you're using any sunscreen or makeup! Because you don't wanna grow acnes on your face, okay?

Although it's quite expensive (cost around $50), I think it's really worthy since I have a sensitive skin and most of sunscreen break me out so bad. Moreover, they also got different types of UV Under Base that you can choose based on your needs. :) As for me, it will never hurts to invest on a good skincare products.

Most Hilarious Present on My 22nd Birthday

I can't help not to post this now. 

So here we go. Few days ago Pat asked me about what should he buy for my birthday present. He asked that question EVERY SINGLE YEAR and also received the same answer from me EVERY TIME he asked. Here's the conversation that we had

Pat (P) : I don't have any money left to buy you something 

Me (G) : You don't always have to buy something, you can create something. Like I did on your last birthday (read here). It cost me less than $5 but you love it, right? I don't need expensive things all the time la. (how sweet I am LOL but it's true)

P : Ok..

And he really DID what I suggest to him. One thing that you should remember. Never give that advice to someone who doesn't have a high romance level or maybe don't love to make surprises. Because you can be totally surprised in many ways.

He suddenly showed this LOVE box when he asked me out for dinner yesterday. He said,"You can open it now." It is against my law to open my present before the time comes. He decided to wait until 12 and make me so damn curious by always putting that LOVE box in front of my eyes. I do really mean it.

G : I was kinda touched that you prepare something for me.

P : Of course la. I prepared it since three days ago.

I found out the LOVE letter is kinda intimidating me to open it earlier or is it just me hahaha. I was curious and then shake the box to guess what's inside the box and the box is really light. Almost like it's empty but I can spot there's paper in there. Then I asked him again

G  : Paper huh? Did you order something and it hasn't arrived yet so you just give me the receipt?

P   : No.

G  : So what? Any hint?

P   : It is something that you really really love. It is in black and red color. I bet that you love it so much.

G  : What makes you so sure, eh? Every time you said that, I never impressed when I open it. 

P   : I'm sure I'll make it this time. Even my father said that you will be impressed.

G  : What? Did your father know about this?

P   : Yes and he agreed with this. He even helped me to wrap this. (wtf what kind of son are you)

G  : It must be something really good or rather stupid.*busy thinking*

Finally it's 12 already.. yeahhh happy birthday to me and I'm 22. Without further ado, I opened it and this is what I found.

G : I told you before. I am not impressed.

P : Just open it.

This is also another the reason WHY you shouldn't let people who aren't working in creative fields do creative works.

P : You told me to make handmade gifts. So I made this.

G : Yeah I told you to and I'm kinda regret now.

P : It's totally handmade. Or maybe office made because I grab everything around from the office. My father laughed when he knew that I was preparing this for you. He told me that even he wouldn't try this idea to my Mum.

G : Then you are brave enough to give this to me -.- By the way, I guess the most expensive part is probably  the wrappers.

P : No lah. The money of course. I took it from the ATM three days ago (this is what he means with I'd prepared it three days ago)

G : You know what? The best thing that I'd done today is I don't have high expectation for my birthday gifts. But it's beyond my expectation LOL

P : You love surprises, don't you? I gave you one. And it has all the things that you love. The red money, the black writings, and Pucca.

G : ... 

You can imagine how do I feel now. It's HILARIOUS. 

Hahahaha but I enjoyed it anyway. Both of us are probably not into lovey-dovey mode LOL. Will update more if there's anything interesting happened again or maybe several things that I would love to achieve in my 22's. 

Review Fresh Light in Lemon Blond

Hello everyone. I was in the mood of changing my hair color lately. I bought this hair dye months ago when it was on special promotion so I got it for a cheaper price. But I have to wait until I finish my thesis and graduation preparation is done before I dye my hair. Just in case if the coloring process is fail and make my hair color very 'unusual'.

I picked up Fresh Light Hair Bubble in Lemon Blond. I chose the lightest color because I lighten my hair color without bleaching. These are the available color in Indonesia. Actually, there are plenty of beautiful color that aren't available here.

The white box is the foam/bubble type and the yellow box is the cream type. So make sure you don't pick the wrong product. The price vary around Rp 110.000,00, and when it was on sale, it's only around Rp 60.000,00 - Rp 80.000,00. You can easily find them at stores like Guardian and Watsons. Most of promotion that I saw was at Watsons. So you can check it out there.

Reason why I chose bubble hair dye is because I know I was super careless and I will not make it even if I use any cream hair dye. Moreover, I was too lazy to go to salon.

Here it comes the interesting part...

There is a hidden hole on the box. o.o Just kidding la, actually they designed the box that way so you can mix the liquid without any mess.

See? Perfectly in.

Then you can start pour the liquid in the black bottle (Hair Color 1) into the white bottle (Developer 2).

After that you can close the bottle with the provided pump.

 Gently shake the bottle in sidewards motion like this

and..Voila! You'd created this nice foam already

Don't forget to use the gloves to protect your hand, unused towels to protect your body from any spilled products, and if you're afraid it will staining your face you can put a little bit of baby oil or moisturizer on the hairline. I was too lazy to dig out any of those items and just use my lipbalm instead LOL. 

It's really easy. Everything foam related kinda make me happy LOL. You can easily spread it all over your hair just like when you're shampoo-ing your hair. You might want to divide you hair into several section if you have super thick hair. And one bottle is more than enough for me! Just make sure that you apply enough hair dye to make sure the color is evenly spread. 

It is said to let it set for 40 minutes, but I left it for 1.5 hours. Because I was kinda not sure and I don't see any difference in the first 40 minutes. After that you can start washing your hair and don't forget to apply the conditioner unless you want to make your hair looks like a broom. 

Now let's see how good it is on my hair...

This is my hair before. 

Super long and ugly roots. Like I haven't dyed it in years! I'm actually still love the reddish tone from the last coloring. Even after months, the color still looks good for me. 

And this is after 

I could tell that the red tone had become more yellowish. I cannot blame the hair dye though the color is not as intense as the previous color.I think it's normal because I achieve the previous color through professionals.But you can see my roots are enlighten a little bit in the right photo. So don't be afraid to pick the lightest color if your hair color is still dark. It would be good to color the whole hair but I don't think it's good enough to touch up your roots, especially if your hair color is quite light already. 

The only downside of this product is the super strong ammonia scent that could make me faint at the moment. Sometimes it's smells really strong and then it disappear. I was doing the whole process outside because I don't think I could handle it if I do it inside my room.

I still have two boxes of Fresh Light (cream type) and I will dye my hair soon with them because I'm not really satisfied with this color. ;) Hopefully it will turn out better than this.

Review SkinLife Foaming Facial Wash and Face Lotion

Few weeks ago, Cow Brand sent me these items to be reviewed. I was curious to find out because most of Japanese Skincare that I know are miraculous LOL <3

And what I got here is their SkinLife series which is aimed for people with acne problems. Acne? Yes, it's the most common and also the most annoying problem for ladies on the earth (or at least for me).

Enough with the random talk then haha. So let's go through the review, shall we?

SKINLIFE FOAMING FACIAL WASH

Actually this is my first time using a foam-type cleansers. Foam-type cleansers is usually more gentle especially on sensitive skin or troubled skin (skin with acne in example). I don't know why but I tend to think that foam-type cleansers aren't clean enough or not really good without any exact reason. So this is a chance to prove whether I'm wrong or not.

It comes in huge 200 ml bottle with a pump and a stopper to prevent the pump being pressed accidentally. So it's safe to go with. I bring it along in my holiday and it doesn't spill any single drops in my bag. You just need an extra space in your luggage since it's quite bulky.

Price : Around Rp 58.000,00

They also provide the refill pack so in case of you're ran out of it, you only need to buy the refill pack and put the products inside the previous bottle... and it's ready to use again. :) The refill pack is also cheaper and only cost you around Rp 38.000,00.

This is how much foam that you get with one pump. 

I usually use 2 pumps to cover my whole face and cleanse it. The foam will be reduced after you spread and massage it. It's really really gentle and also has a hint of sweet fragrance that soothes you. And I found out that it feels really fun to play with the foam while you're washing your face.  Moreover,you don't have to foam your facial wash anymore because it comes out as foam already. :D

And I WAS WRONG!

 It lefts a really nice fresh and clean feeling on my face after usage. Just like how it goes with other cleansers that I ever used. So it is not true to have such ridiculous thoughts that 'foam cleanser are not good enough' like me. It's quite moisturizing, but I feel a little tight feeling on my cheeks after I pat my face dry. I have a combination skin-type, so I think it would work better on people with normal, oily, and combination skin.

SKINLIFE FACE LOTION

The next product is the Face Lotion.

As I know , in Japanese Skincare lotion aren't one of  moisturizer that we used to know in Indonesia. Lotion in Japanese Skincare is more into preparing your skin to absorbs the other products that will be applied after the lotion. It is usually comes in order like this :

 Cleansers - Lotion - Serum - Moisturizer - Sunscreen/ Makeup Base

I know it's kinda confusing and you can read more about it here. 

Price : Around Rp 50.000,00

It contains 150 ml.

Unlike another lotion from Japanese Skincare that I'd ever tried, I was quite surprised to find out that this lotion is quite similar with toner. I usually pat lotion on my face by hands. But I prefer to use this lotion with cotton and I could spot the strong alcohol inside the products immediately. It feels refreshing and clean but I definitely need to put on my moisturizer after using this lotion because it slightly drying after usage. It's probably because of the alcohol.

After using them for more than two weeks, it doesn't break me out at all which is a really good point as a start. My skin is still sensitive and could reacts badly if I don't take care of it properly. SkinLife products also help to treat the rest of acne that I got and don't irritate them at all. I could really tell because my skin is getting better, less acne, and slightly a brighter complexion. 

 Please noted that they don't instantly cure your acne but gradually take care of your troubled skin or acne. You might still need something else to get rid of your acne (like acne curing gel or something similar) but it is also important to keep your face clean with basic skincare like this. You'd probably know that one of the common cause for acne is because you didn't cleanse your face carefully :) 

I think it's worth to try since the price is quite affordable and they come in quite a huge size. I guess it could last me for about 2-3 months or maybe more. I would love to recommend this if you have a problem with acne or when your skin is getting sensitive (like mine).
